On April 28, 2007, James Roger Huff was reported missing by his daughter Talissa Lynn Isom. Isom advised she had not heard from her father for a few days prior to filing the report. Isom advised she usually talked to her father every day but has not since Thursday.

 


According to the case file, Isom, her aunt, and David Stone located Huff’s truck off Oak Grove Church Road. The truck was found in a pasture behind Oak Grove Church. Huff leased this land for his cattle. Huff’s keys were in the truck along with his checkbook and money which was found over the visor. The area was searched with no results, nor any evidence located that could answer any questions as to the disappearance of Huff.

Lowell Vern Daughenbaugh was last seen in Surry County, North Carolina on January 5, 1987. He was packing his belongings into his gold 1973 Chevrolet truck at the time. Daughenbaugh planned to drive to Houston, Texas to contact a friend in the city and search for employment as a tractor-trailer driver.

Daughenbaugh never arrived in Texas and has not been seen since. His truck was found abandoned at the Dixie Truck Stop off of Interstate 77 in Charlotte, North Carolina in March 1987, two months after his initial disappearance. None of Daughenbaugh's belongings were inside the vehicle at the time of its discovery, but the keys were still in the ignition.

Daughenbaugh has a criminal history, but there has not been any activity on his record since 1987. Foul play is suspected in his disappearance. This case remains an open investigation.
